Shelter to Service Program Application

Animals provide powerful therapeutic benefits for many people, but for people managing emotional or mental health conditions, they have added practical benefits and can significantly improve their quality of life.

Shelter to Service, formerly Pets and Vets, was launched in 2011 as a program providing free adoptions to U.S. military Veterans. Now including a variety of services, Joybound's flagship program transforms rescue animals into emotional support animals, facility dogs and cats, and trained psychiatric service dogs for anyone with anxiety, severe depression, PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, and more.

Please note: Shelter to Service does NOT train existing pets for service or facility work. If this is something you are looking for, please refer to the Assistance Dogs International accredited organizations that will consider working with an owner an their personal dog here under their advanced filter options.
