Animals provide powerful therapeutic benefits for many people, but for people managing emotional or mental health conditions, they have added practical benefits and can significantly improve their quality of life.
Shelter to Service, formerly Pets and Vets, was launched in 2011 as a program providing free adoptions to U.S. military Veterans.
Now including a variety of services, Joybound's flagship program transforms rescue animals into facility dogs and cats, and trained psychiatric service dogs for anyone with anxiety, severe depression, PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, and more.
Below is our animal comparison chart outlining the differences between common types of working animals.
