The Position:

Working collaboratively with the Business / Arts team, the Communications Coordinator will gather program information and assemble communications pieces with a distinct and professional voice. Reporting to the Director of Communications based in Calgary, they will support the implementation of communications plans for multiple programs and initiatives, with the primary objective of engaging and growing our national audience of arts and business leaders. They will support the development of a dynamic content calendar to ensure our programs receive maximum exposure across various channels.

The ideal candidate is a creative and organized individual with outstanding writing skills. They have a background in curating content for diverse platforms and audiences, demonstrating proficiency in social media management and website content development. Their strong data management skills are complemented by a knack for in-depth research and analytical thinking. Detail-oriented, they excel at managing simultaneous deadlines and possess a keen eye for industry trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the planning, execution, and monitoring of communication campaigns
  • Create communication pieces that reflect the unique voice and values of Business / Arts
  • Develop and disseminate engaging social media content across various channels
  • Provide support for website maintenance, ensuring up-to-date content and user-friendly design in alignment with website best practices
  • Assemble Mailchimp email campaigns and maintain the national mailing list
  • Conduct research and gather relevant program information to support Business / Arts’ programs and further their impact
  • Leverage analytics to measure reach and work with the communications team to refine outreach and engagement strategies

Qualifications:

  • Ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling written content for a range of audiences and channels
  • Proficiency in social media management and content creation 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, meet deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail
  • Strong research skills 
  • Ability to track and interpret analytics 
  • Familiarity with WordPress, HTML, and website design best practices
  • Knowledge of the Canadian arts and culture sector
  • Keen ability to take initiative, set goals and spot opportunities
  • The ability to work in French is considered a strong asset

What You Can Expect:

This is a full-time, one-year contract position (with the possibility of extension) with a salary range of $3750 to $4000 a month. Business / Arts also offers a comprehensive Health and Benefits plan. This position is open to candidates from across the country, with a preference for individuals based in Calgary or Toronto, allowing for a possible hybrid work arrangement.
