Aims:
- Learn strategies for building and maintaining a safe and supportive environment for dialogue about faith, belief and identity
- Improve own skills of sensitive and effective communication around issues of faith, belief and identity
- Gain practical tools for exploring faith, belief and identity in your classroom
- Develop activities for exploring faith, belief and identity in new and unexpected ways
The full day training gives participants opportunity to:
- Explore additional activities for engaging in dialogue about faith, belief and identity in the classroom
- Further build own skills of sensitive and effective communication
- Reflect on the skills needed to effectively facilitate a dialogue about faith, belief and identity
- Hear examples from peers and reflect on own practice in facilitating conversations about faith, belief and identity
Options: Half Day (3 hours) or Full Day (5.5 hours)

Controversial Issues in the Classroom
Aims:
- Learn strategies for building and maintaining a safe and supportive environment for exploring controversial issues
- Gain practical tools for transforming challenging moments into positive learning experiences for students
- Improve own skills for remaining calm and taking positive action during difficult discussions
- Hear examples from peers and reflect on own practice in managing conversations about controversial issues
The full day training gives participants opportunity to:
- Explore additional activities for discussions about controversial issues in the classroom
- Reflect on own teaching style and learn new styles or approaches for difficult moments
- Hear further examples from peers and reflect on own practice in managing conversations about faith, belief and identity
