Study Title: The Nurse Practitioner Role Transition Scale: A Confirmatory Factor Analysis
You are invited to participate in this survey of nurse practitioner (NP) role transition. I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Connecticut, and I am conducting this survey as part of my dissertation research. I am interested in examining the role transition experience of newly graduated nurse practitioners during their first year of practice.
To participate, you must be currently working in a clinical setting as a nurse practitioner and have at least one full year of experience in the NP role. Your participation in this study will require completion of the attached questionnaire. This should take approximately ten minutes of your time. Your participation will be anonymous and you will not be contacted again in the future. You will not be paid for being in this study. This survey does not involve any risk to you. However, the benefits of your participation may impact the nursing profession by helping to increase knowledge about nurse practitioner role transition.
You do not have to be in this study if you do not want to be. You do not have to answer any question that you do not want to answer for any reason. We will be happy to answer any questions you have about this study. If you have further questions about this project or if you have a research-related problem, you may contact me, Sally Strange, at (860) 644-1505 or my advisor, Regina Cusson at (860) 486-5126. If you have any questions about your rights as a research participant you may contact the University of Connecticut Institutional Review Board (IRB) at 860-486-8802. The IRB is a group of people who review research studies to protect the rights and welfare of research participants.
