Move-In Day! 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM - Campus Village

Students arrive at Campus Village starting at 10:00 AM on the 14th.  We would love to have a small group of CU Denver Faculty, Staff, and Students to welcome students to campus.  See below for ways that you can be part of the Move-In Crew!

***Campus Village gates open just before 10:00 AM for those Students and Parents waiting in line, if you sign up for the 10:00 AM shift please be at Campus Village by 9:00 AM to recieve directions for the day.***
Mover (High need for volunteers) - Movers are critical team members on Move-In day.  Bring your working clothes and be prepared to help students unload cars and cart items to their new apartments in Campus Village.
Welcome Table (Full.  No more volunteers needed.) - The Welcome Table is the first stop for students.  People working this station will help direct people to check-in, coordinate dolly/cart check-out and provide a welcome to students and families.
Elevator Monitor (Low need for volunteers) - 700 students will be moving into Campus Village.  There are only 2 elevators.  The Elevator Monitors play a crucial role in maintaining order and movement.  Monitors make sure the elevators keep moving and that the elevators do not get "overstuffed."  This is great for anyone who loves riding up and down in an elevator for two hours!
Friday August 15th
Convocation - 4:00 PM - 10:00 PM -

New Student Convocation is the official welcome for all new students to the University of Colorado Denver. Similar to graduation being the end of a student’s university experience, this event marks the beginning of a student’s time at CU Denver and involves a pinning ceremony. This is an opportunity for incoming students to come together for their first official university event.

Line up for Convocation (Full.  No more volunteers needed.)
Help line students up into their College, distribute robes, marshal the line as students walk to Convocation.
BBQ and Resource Fair (Full.  No more volunteers needed.)
Help with set up and take down of food, monitor the lines, direct participants at Resource Fair.
Movie  (Full.  No more volunteers needed.)
Help distribute snacks and watch a movie!
Saturday August 16th
Casino Night - 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM - Campus Village Courtyard

This event required a large number of volunteers to be successful.  Campus Village Casino night is a tradition that goes back 8 years.  Come try your luck and get involved in this fun event.  We need help dealing Texas Hold 'Em, Black Jack, Roulette, and Craps.  Don't know how to deal?  We will teach a crash course in these games at 6:15 PM in the Campus Village Courtyard.  Volunteer dealers will work two 30-minute shifts with a 30 minute break in between.  We will also provide you with dinner at Campus Village beginning at 5:30 PM.  We hope to see you there!
Card and Game Dealer (Extremely high need for volunteers)
Mock-Tail Artist (Low need for volunteers) - Like to mix fruit juice and soda?  Have a killer recipe for a virgin dacquiri?  This is the job for you.  Help serve students drinks and share some health/safety information about alcohol.  Wear old shoes and a shirt you don't love.  It can get sticky behind the bar!
